Hooray!!
People are finally finding my website!! About a month ago I was told one of my poems was found posted on a blog 'perkins ponderings' and yesterday I got an email from a woman in New York who found my website (for those of you who aren't familiar with my website it's www.lessonsfromheaven.net) and wondered if she could share my poetry with the sisters in her ward (she's the RS pres and wants to include them in her monthly newsletters). I'm so excited and so grateful. Writing the poems has been such an incredible experience and I just want to share, share, share!!! Thanks to all of you for your encouragement and support over the past 6 (WOW! Has it really been that long?) years. I love you and I thank Heavenly Father every day for such a great family. Take care :)

We've Got You All Beat!!
Our update is a little more exciting! Princess Rachel is riding in luxury in our silver limo to participate in the royal orchestra three days a week. She is making beautiful music (on her viola) fit for a king (her daddy...he really likes to hear her play). Last night we feasted on delectible breakfast sandwiches for our dinner and spent the evening watching "The Parent Trap" while carving ghoulish jack-o-lanterns which will now be used to decorate the entrance to our castle. Heather (who prefers no one know she is a princess) is driving her self (see I told you!) to her newly found place where dreams come true (her dreams anyway), where she lovingly (I mean that sincerely) takes special care of severely disabled children. Her eyes sparkle (really) and her braces gleam through her beautiful smile whether she's coming or going. This has been a wonderful blessing in her life...and she's soooo adorable in those scrubs!! And our princes...Mark and Eric...they continue to dream of the day they won't have to be bossed around by the king and queen. Meanwhile, they trudge through the daily grind of life and make the best of their royal circumstances :) The king and queen send their love and hope to hear from each of you very soon.
Nothin' here neither!
It sounds like there is a whole lot of nothin' goin' around. Ellee Jo started basketball two weeks ago. Mom and I still go to work everyday and I am still in school. School is very stressful right now. I will post a blog later and tell you all about it. It is just about time for school so we need to finish checking email, eating breakfast, watching the news and get out of here. I mostly just wanted to check in and let you all know that we are alive. We love you all and miss you. I really need to get an invitation to uncle Lionel and Aunt Emma, I will work on that this week.
Bye

Volleyball
Volleyball is going well. Our record right now is 15-4. We are going to districts
seeded as third. That is really exciting considering the fact that the volleyball
program has never made it to state and that we have a very good chance at
winning the state title this year. It was been really fun and there are no more
grade checks until the day after state, which means I dont have to stress as much
about grades. I just have to play my game. Im really excited and Ill let you all
know how we do.

Ps. I MISS YOU CHAD-YO AND JEANNE!!!

New From Grammy and Aunt Kathy
Just a quick note to catch you up on what's new with Grammy and Aunt Kathy. Did you catch it? Well that's about it - Nothing!
Actually we've been working hard organizing and reorganing closets and the garage to increase areas for food storage and 72-hour kits. As a result we've been busy sending a myriad of things to the DI or garabage. It's amazing what we've aquired over the years and don't use.
Aunt Kathy boxed up her rocks and science stuff this week to give to Angelene Israelsen. It was a hard decision, but she felt they didn't do kids any good stored in her bedroom. Angelene is thrilled to have them for her fifth grade classroom. Aunt Kathy did keep the rocks Jae and Ellee wanted. She also kept her "toys" that the grandchildren love to play with.
We've started having FHE with Uncle Lionel and Aunt Emma's family, Chad and Jeanne, and Doug and Tonia twice a month. This past Monday we carved pumpkins and listened to reports about trips to Florida and Idaho. It seems that all who could go had a grand time and found those who couldn't go safe and sound upon their return. We've posted a picture of "the boys" playing a game during our first FHE.
Gabe is enjoying preschool with Aunt Kathy twice a week while his mother attends classes at Bridgerland. This week he learned about the letter "g," number "zero," and opposites. He is quite eager to learn and catches on quickly. While practicing "opposites," Aunt Kathy showed him a pair of shoes in a shoebox and asked, "What is the opposite of 'in'?" After careful consideration he answered, "Sold!"
Grandma Edith continues to have treatment for her cancer. She has two people who work with her regularly, one a short woman with long dark straight hair; the other, a tall man with short dark wavey hair. During a treatment this week a shorter man with dark wavey hair entered her room. Thinking he looked an aweful lot like the tall man with short dark wavey hair, she asked if they were related. The man smiled and replied, "We are closely related. In fact we are the same man, me." Surprised, Grandma said, "But you don't look as tall as you used to." He responded by saying, "That's because we raised your bed." What a good sport to be able to laugh at yourself and share it with others!
We pray for each of you daily and look forward to phone calles, e-mails, and Hogan-blogs.
Love,
Grammy and Aunt Kathy

That was fun!!!
We had a lot of fun in Boise this past weekend. We ate and swam and played games. Saturday we headed east from Boise in search of the place to hold our first family reunion. Around 3:30 in the afternoon our car broke down. We were glad that Jeanne and Chad were with us. They helped us get our car down the canyon to a tiny town where we found a mechanic. We had to leave our car there until Monday morning, which meant we had to stay an extra day. Everyone called their boss and we took advantage of more time together. By Monday noon we were all ready to head home. After all we found the place for our reunion and are excited to be in the planning stages. We will post more information at a later date. We hope that everyone has been doing well.
